Borys Kowalewski

Borys Kowalewski is a research engineer at WSAudiology/Widex. He holds an MSc in Acoustics from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland and a PhD in Hearing Science from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). Prior to joining WSAudiology in 2019, he worked as a Post Doc in DTU Hearing Systems. His PhD and Post Doc work focused on modeling the effects of hearings loss and hearing-aid compensation on the basic aspects of auditory perception, investigating the effects of dynamic-range compression on the perception of speech, and developing novel signal-processing strategies for hearing-assistive devices. Currently, his main focus is on improving hearing-aid fitting and sound quality, but his broader interests include psychoacoustics, computational modeling, auditory signal processing and speech intelligibility.

Work Area

Borys Kowalewski contributes to the development of an experimental fitting protocol and its implementation in the clinical environment (the validation of new strategies).
